Foray & Feast: Fort Snelling
Join us at Fort Snelling State Park as we kick off Mycelia Fest with a guided community foray. We’ll gather at 11:00 AM for a brief introduction to mushroom foraging, covering what we may find, what to keep an eye out for, and how to respectfully observe fungi in their natural environment. After the intro, we’ll head into the woods together to explore.
There’s no strict end time for the foray. We’ll move at the pace of the forest, following curiosity and seeing what the land has to offer. Whether it’s your first time looking for mushrooms or you already enjoy foraging, this is a chance to learn, wander, and connect with others in nature.
Rain is part of the magic when it comes to fungi, so depending on the conditions we may still head out and enjoy the perfect mushroom weather. If the rain is too heavy, the foray may be postponed to later in the evening or another time that permits.
