This unique event offers community members an opportunity to connect directly with their government officials and state representatives, sharing insights and advocating for the inclusion of psych•d•lic policy in local legislation.

Each stop on the roadshow will foster open dialogue around the impact and importance of psych•d•lic policy, creating a space for attendees to provide input on the needs of the community and learn how to take active roles in shaping future laws. Whether you’re a long-time advocate, curious about policy change, or seeking ways to make your voice heard, this series will empower you to be part of the conversation.

Come to learn, engage, and amplify the community’s voice in the movement for psych•d•lic policy reform!

Day one of our Psych•d•lic Roadshow is in the books! A big thank you to @houseofoilworx for hosting us in downtown Anoka. Fun fact: Anoka is known as the self-proclaimed Halloween Capital of the World!

We enjoyed an intimate gathering of community members, state representatives, and our Task Force Chairwoman. Together, we discussed important updates on the task force, local policy changes, and what a realistic future might look like for psych•d•lics in Minnesota. With a diverse range of priorities, concerns, and visions for local policy, we reflected on how to balance these in a sustainable, equitable way that puts Minnesota communities at the heart of change.

Key Takeaways:

Spread Awareness! Reach out to your representatives to show how important this issue is for your vote.

Education Matters! Read and share the task force report—it’s vital that not only the community, but our legislators, law enforcement, and city officials are well-informed.

Make Your Voice Heard! Consider submitting a testimonial to be included in the report (link in our story & @psychedelic_societymn ).

Big Psych Priorities:

Cultivation Protection in Legislation: Cultivators are often overlooked in policy reform. Cultivation is central to many spiritual practices and should be protected just as possession. We appreciate the growing emphasis on “organic psilocybin” here in MN.

Psychedelic Social Equity: Psychedelic exploration is deeply personal—there’s no one “right” way to experience psych•d•lics. Legalizing or validating one approach while criminalizing others goes against their spirit and ability to adapt and work with their partner is such intimate form. We champion a system that respects the unique experiences of all.

Protection of the MN Psych•d•lic Community: We must ensure local activists, cultivators, and organizations—who are at the forefront of this movement—aren’t pushed aside by big business. Providing ample grants/tax credits to local residents and implementing caregiver-style programs will help keep our local infrastructure strong and community-centered.

We will only support a community-centered model! 🤍

Thank you to everyone who came out to share your thoughts in this crucial conversation. This @dunnbrosminnetonka was a perfect location. It’s been inspiring to see the movement expanding beyond the city and into suburban areas!

Here are some key takeaways from last night’s discussion:

- Safety Concerns: Some representatives raised questions about how we can ensure these substances are kept secure from children and how we can educate the public on proper dosing. This will be a key focus in the upcoming task force report, which @justj14333 is diligently working on.

- Diversity in Psych•d•lic Approach: Building on our last discussion, we emphasized the need for social equity in psych•lic policy. It’s crucial not to prioritize one practice or belief system over another, but to honor the unique ways in which psych•d•lics connect with each of us.

- The Power of Education: Prioritizing education not only supports harm reduction safety concerns but also empowers legislators to make informed decisions. We have a legislative democracy in which elected representatives make decisions and pass laws on behalf of the public. Since Minnesota doesn’t have ballot initiatives where the public votes on an issue, we need to continue raising our voices in our community to ensure policymakers understand why psych•d•lics matter.

Our final stop is in Rochester—see you there! 🌟

And that wraps up our final stop on the Minnesota Psych•d•lic Roadshow! Thank you to everyone who joined us to share your perspectives and learn about the future of psych•d•lic legislation here in Minnesota. Special thanks to @andysmithmn , @waking_nomad , and @bryguy27007 for your organizing efforts and commitment to keeping community voices central as we begin to shape psychedelic policy in our state! We are very lucky to have a Task Force chairwoman @justj14333 that prioritizes community voices and makes an effort to share updates and address questions and concerns within the community 🍁
